SurviveHatchet meets Lost in this modern-day adventure tale of one girl's reawakening

Jane is on a plane on her way home to Montclair, New Jersey, from a mental hospital. She is about to kill herself. Just before she can swallow a lethal dose of pills, the plane hits turbulence and everything goes black. Jane wakes up amidst piles of wreckage and charred bodies on a snowy mountaintop. There is only one other survivor: a boy named Paul, who inspires Jane to want to fight for her life for the first time.

Jane and Paul scale icy slopes and huddle together for warmth at night, forging an intense emotional bond. But the wilderness is a vast and lethal force, and only one of them will survive.

I remember when Lost came out and it was all the rage. I was also about in grade five and was never allowed to watch it, but this sounds so good! Shoot me, but I didn't enjoy reading Lord of the Flies and even though it's the same kind-of concept this sounds so good! See my enthusiasm?

Link me to your WOW and I'll check them out.

Also, the birthday giveaway is coming up real soon so they close!

  1. I'm really looking forward to this! I love survival stories. I'm also a Lost and Hatchet fan. I lov the idea of her wanting to commit suicide on the plane and then the plane crashes! Can't wait to see Jane and Paul survive. Thanks for visiting My WOW!

    1. No problem! I think survival tends to bring out the worst in people (even the tv show!) so I'm really excited to see what the author does with this.

  3. I'm dying to read this! I was supposed to read Lord of the Flies for my English oral exam at school but I didn't have the time to finish it. I liked what I read though. But I think I love books where people are stranded on an island, having to try to survive. Especially if it's a couple or if there's a possibility of the survivors becoming a couple. It makes for an awesome romantic situation, not to mention a little scary and really interesting.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! :)

    1. I laughed out loud at your 'romantic situation' comment with me thinking of Lord of the Flies. That situation was definitely not the case! Haha.

  6. I haven't seen this one before, but it sounds AMAZING. I just love, love, love the concept. You're right - it is very reminiscent of Lost, but it also reminds me of an old movie I used to love as a kid called Wild America. Thanks for sharing!

Hey, you there, yes you ;)

Thanks for commenting! This is seriously awesome and I promise to try my hardest to get back to you, so do check back if you had a question or something to discuss!

Sadly, this is an award free blog. I really, really appreciate the thought and offer but with grade twelve and other activities as well as blogging, I don't really have all the spare time in the world. But thank you so much for the thought!

Seriously, though. Check back because I love to reply to comments ;)

Ellen.
