Waiting On Wednesday {23}

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Expected Publication: June 4th 2013 by Random House Children's Publishing

The Oathbreaker's Shadow (The Knots Sequence, #1)

Fifteen-year-old Raim lives in a world where you tie a knot for every promise that you make. Break that promise and you are scarred for life, and cast out into the desert.

Raim has worn a simple knot around his wrist for as long as he can remember. No one knows where it came from, and which promise of his it symbolises, but he barely thinks about it at all—not since becoming the most promising young fighter ever to train for the elite Yun guard. But on the most important day of his life, when he binds his life to his best friend (and future king) Khareh, the string bursts into flames and sears a dark mark into his skin.

Scarred now as an oath-breaker, Raim has two options: run, or be killed.

A gripping YA action-adventure fantasy, the first part of a planned duology.

I have always loved alternate universe/fantasy worlds set in deserts. It just reminds me of the movie Prince of Persia which I absolutely loved (and it had nothing to do with how hot Jake looked in it ;D). The book sounds like it has all the right elements to be a great read and as a random side note I love how the cover actually features a guy since it is in a guy's point of view. Young adult covers don't feature many males so this is a refreshing change.

Let me know what you think in the comments below, leaving a link to your own WOW post and I'll stop by :)

  3. Oh my gosh, yes. I've been wanting to read this one for months! I requested an ARC, but Random House just doesn't like me! I've never gotten one from them, so I guess I'll just have to suck it up and wait until it releases! Tear.

    Thanks for stopping by my WoW!

Hey, you there, yes you ;)

Thanks for commenting! This is seriously awesome and I promise to try my hardest to get back to you, so do check back if you had a question or something to discuss!

Sadly, this is an award free blog. I really, really appreciate the thought and offer but with grade twelve and other activities as well as blogging, I don't really have all the spare time in the world. But thank you so much for the thought!

Seriously, though. Check back because I love to reply to comments ;)

Ellen.
